Screenshot to AI is a browser extension that captures screenshots and sends them to AI services (ChatGPT and Grok) for analysis. This extension is primarily designed for Japanese users.

Permissions Explained

Permission Purpose
activeTab To capture a screenshot of the currently visible tab when you click the extension button
clipboardWrite To copy the screenshot to clipboard so it can be pasted into AI services
scripting To inject the toolbar UI into web pages and to automatically paste the image into ChatGPT or Grok pages
storage To save your preferences (image quality, prompt, destination) locally
tabs To find and switch to existing ChatGPT/Grok tabs
contextMenus To add a right-click context menu option for sending screenshots directly to ChatGPT or Grok

Host Permissions

The extension requires access to all URLs (<all_urls>) for the following purposes:

No data from visited pages is collected or transmitted. The extension only reads page content to the extent necessary to display its UI and send screenshots to the AI service you choose.

Remote Code

This extension does NOT use any remote code. All code is contained within the extension package.

Third-Party Services

When you send a screenshot to ChatGPT or Grok, the image is processed by those services according to their respective privacy policies:
